Dementia Programme Board Update

In March, the Department of Health and Social Care convened the first meeting in over a year of the Dementia Programme Board.

Although sadly expected, it was highly disappointing to hear that the promised 10 year plan was off the table. But dementia is now part of the new Major Conditions Strategy. What this means in practice is unclear but we are promised an update in June. You can read a high level summary of the meeting here.

On a slightly more optimistic note, on the subject of dementia research, progress is being made with the Dementia Mission, launched in memory of Dame Barbara Windsor and other research activity. You can read more here.
