3 Nations Dementia Working Group
The 3 Nations Dementia Working Group (3NDWG) are a friendly group of people diagnosed with dementia who want to make a difference whilst we still can.

The steering group for 3 Nations Dementia Working Group in January 2025.
Who are we?
We are a small group with big ambitions and we hope to do the following:
- Bring the lived experience as experts with our personal knowledge of dementia that people value whether in a professional or non-professional capacity. As such our aim is to become the ‘go to’ group within the three nations (of England, Northern Ireland and Wales) for anyone seeking input from people with dementia.
- Continue to contribute to society, to give value, advice and information where required and requested.
- Help each other through mutual support, friendship and understanding.
- Help all those affected by dementia. We understand what you are dealing with.
- Help those who are trying to help us (such as policy makers, service providers, academics, researchers, businesses).

The 3NDWG are hosting monthly webinars, designed and delivered by people living with dementia.
Carers Support (pre and post diagnosis) - Tuesday 17 June 2025, 11am - 12pm
In this webinar, we will look at ways to manage stress and prevent ‘burnout’ of carers who are usually not professionally trained, but are family members thrust into the position of being carers without experience. We will explore what support networks are available to caregivers, both prior to and post-diagnosis. We will also look at legal and financial guidance for caregivers and their families' needs. With input from an Admiral Nurse, we hope to produce a comprehensive panel which will cover the main aspects and difficulties facing caregivers on a daily basis.
This webinar from the 3NDWG covers a very important aspect of dementia/ Alzheimer’s that is often overlooked.

Positivity in dementia
Our last webinar, ‘Positivity in dementia’ aimed to challenge common misconceptions about dementia and highlight the importance of maintaining a positive outlook for both individuals living with dementia and their caregivers. By focusing on strength-based approaches, the webinar explored practical strategies for enhancing wellbeing, fostering engagement, and promoting quality of life, regardless of diagnosis. The session also emphasized the power of community support, encouraging participants to share experiences and learn from one another.
